caution: smarties and white russians do NOT mix
Today was a terrible day. After being abused, ignored, and generally mistreated by my healthcare provider, I went to Toys R Us in search of Big League Chew; alas, store seven in my search did not have the wondrous product I’m so desperately seeking to find. Angry at the world, cussing at drivers, and wishing that civilization as a whole would stop harassing me, I finally made it to Barnes and Noble - where I found sanctuary amongst the books. Here's what I bought:
Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller
The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg
Kira-Kira by Cynthia Kadohata
Rechenka's Eggs by Patricia Polacco (A children's tale about Easter eggs you may remember - not a picture book about a Ukrainian woman and her journey towards surrgoate motherhood, sadly).
Tonight on the news, I learned that a store in Livermore (called Dom's) was broken into. Tons of firearms were stolen; apparently, the same thing has happened in three other bay area locations recently. Obviously, a militia is forming, and I am greatly concerned. I feel highly distrustful of a militia that goes to illegal lengths to acquire firearms. Something inside me says "these aren't good people".
When I went to the store to buy turkey meat for dinner (spaghetti and garlic bread, sucka), I made sure to watch out for a roaming militia because I really think one can’t be too careful in these times. I informed my father that he was a coward for not escorting me to the store – he doesn’t seem at all concerned about the safety of the Livermorons.
I should probably add that I’ve had two homemade White Russians at this point and will probably regret having written this in the morning, but what the hell? At least it’s a new post.

Oh Tyler, how Jessica would worship you if you could hunt down some of that nasty bubble gum. I hear about it almost daily:) I can't believe Dom's got broken into. Tyler bought a backpack from them once. I think. Maybe we should have Tyler confirm that one. It's possible that I just made it up, but it sounded right. Somebody I know in Riverside bought something from little ol' Dom's in Livermore. I fear that my students are the ones forming the milita. They seem capable. Ha.
Ha. I figured that Toys R Us would have the gum because they often sell unique candy products. So far, I've tried Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart, PW, Target, 7-11, and KB Toys. The last place I purchased it was, indeed, at a shady liquor/convenience store in Azusa. Really, it's become a mission for me now. If I am unsuccessful for much longer, I may call you in, Tyler. Be prepared :-D
Sherry - by "my students" are you referring to Rachel and Katie? Because really, I could see them forming a militia. "Pastor's Kid and Awanas Leader's Daughter Go on Shooting Rampage". Hmm. Do the Meek's own a late 80s early 90s black Honda?
I took Benadryl last night, and this morning, as I struggled to regain consciousness, still half-asleep, I dreamt that you and I were supposed to go to an art museum today, and that you had shown up too early (having not showered). I told you there was no need for such haste, and you went to the Mitchell's to clean up (for some reason you wouldn't shower here, and it offended me). I was supposed to get donuts while you were getting ready, but fell back asleep. You showed up 2 hours later, having gone to Elizabeth to get your hair done. It wasn't that cute. Dream transition: Later, I ended up going for a bike ride with my mom and Stan and Virginia. Unfortunately, Virginia's bike was a stationary one, so we were attempting to break off the extra pieces so she could ride freely. Then, my mom and I ended up sorting through old dolls, clothes, and other keepsakes and I knew you were waiting but just couldn't leave the task unfinished. There was amazing stuff in there, Sherry. So amazing that I was attempting to take photos of the things we were giving away (they recommend doing that if you have separation issues with possessions), but my digital camera had been damaged. All this to say... sorry for being a crummy friend and ditching you when we were supposed to go to the museum.
Drugs are very bad indeed.
Wowie, Jessica. That's an incredible dream. I'm totally impressed. I had a dream that I was a prostitute last night- that's all I can remember about it. Lovely, eh? I was more referring to Brandon's cousin Alexander. He's the one that concerns me. Ha. Let's go out tonight...we went to sushi last night and I had a Japanese beer. It made me excited for our outing. I love you!
Oh no... Alex the terror. We hate him!
I can't believe you went to sushi and didn't invite me.
Where do you want to go tonight?
And are we inviting anyone else?
Tyler... prepared to be worshiped. Thank you so much for the links - I don't know why I hadn't thought to use my best friend the internet to help me locate "the goods"; but I'm sure glad you did!
I'll continue to pester Sherry about a So Cal visit so that we can come bug you guys and maybe eat some sushi.
